Xs2 string colors
This is the order form for strings. Other items I may sell can be requested by email. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about your order. Flemishstrings@gmail.com
Any and all corrections must be done by cancelling the original order and resubmitting a new order. This includes any contact info, color changes, serving length, contact info etc. There are no exceptions.
For the US and Canada, all strings are $50.00 USD and include shipping with a tracking number and insurance. US duty/tariffs will be paid by me. Because of increased costs of shipping the price of a string is $60.00 USD (does not come with tracking or insurance) for most countries outside of Canada and the US. The price includes reserving (at the cost of return postage) for the lifetime of the strings to the original purchaser.
PAYMENT IS BY PAYPAL. IN CANADA YOU CAN PAY BY EMT/ETRANSFER/INTERAC. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A PAYPAL ACCOUNT YOU CAN PAY USING YOUR CREDIT CARD USING A PAYPAL REQUEST LINK THAT I WILL SEND YOU. IF YOU HAVE ANY DIFFICULTIES CALL PAYPAL. ANY OTHER TYPES OF PAYMENT MUST BE DISGUSSED PRIOR TO ME MAKING THE STRING AND MUST BE PREPAID BEFORE I GET TO WORK ON YOUR ORDER.
When you submit your order I will email it back to you so that you can check for accuracy. Please check your spam box within a day and reply to the email so that you will see my email when the string is done. If you don’t see an email from me in a day or 2, please send me an email. IF YOU DO NOT REPLY I WILL DELETE YOUR ORDER.
Reserving is free for the lifetime of the string. Postage is not covered by me. Postage into the US is $10.00 USD. In Canada I will send the string back as oversized mail @$5.00 CDN and if you want tracking I can give you an estimate.
**I do not make strings for TwinStrike bows and I do not make dacron strings for bows with carved limb tips**
If you decide to get a string from someone else and no longer want the string you ordered, PLEASE have the decency to let me know asap. I have had a number of people buy a string from someone else and not let me know until I contact them after I’ve made the string they ordered. If you want a string in a hurry please go elsewhere. I’m in my 70s and have lots to do on my farm. I also hunt so from September to the end of January and hunting takes priority.

There are 3 choices of string material for you to make. Force 10, Astroflight or Xs2 are good for any bow. The differences between the materials are minor and I always choose Force 10 on any of my bows.
String colours below as specific to the materials you choose. I cannot edit your order. If you make a mistake and choose a colour that I do not have I will delete your order and ask you to resubmit.
Force 10 colours are; Flo yellow, OD green (dark), brown, grey/silver, flo green, red, black and blue. Sorry, no pictures. This is the material that Excalibur used for their strings before they switched to Mercury 2. They switched only because BCY stopped making Force 10. Mercury 2 is good but it has it’s challenges. Force 10 stops creeping in 15 shots or so and afterwards is quite stable. If you do not have a preconceived opinion on any string material, pick Force 10. It is by far the most practical string I make. Force 10 is the material that I use for my bows.
Astroflight colours are; flo yellow, flow orange, flow red, brown, metallic beige, yellow and black. I have this material in limited quantities. Sorry no pictures. Astroflight is a good material. It is slightly lower in noise than Force 10 and is slightly slower. There seems to be a cult following to this material.
Xs2 String colors are; Black, OD green, blue, metallic beige, mountain berry, red, flo green, gray, flo purple, flo yellow, orange, flo pink. This material is softer shooting and takes 50/60 shots to stop creeping. You’ll find yourself adjusting this string only a couple of times a year.
When you get your string, please wax it. Wax the loops, then install the string. Once in stalled, the rest of the string can be waxed including the center serving. You should only put on enough to make the string and serving wet. It does not have to have a coating. Install the string at the length you receive it (the brace height will be higher than normal). Leave the string to rest for 12/24 hrs. Letting it sit on your bow for a period of time lets the string relax and will tell you if you need to put in or remove some twists as well as give the string sometime to absorb the wax. Always wax the string when you’re done shooting. Waxing just before shooting is a waste of wax as it will fling off with each shot. You want to have more than 3/8" between the string and the bumpers during break-in. Shoot the bow 20 to 50 times (the string will stop creeping and the brace height should stop sinking) and if it ends up anywhere between 1/4" and 3/8" leave it there. Do not unwind or lengthen the string to achieve your target brace height when the string is first installed. Any adjustments should not be more than one full turn at a time. Absolutely do not unwind or lengthen the string when first installed without talking to me first. If you have a Matrix (not a Bulldog with a swept back riser) or Micro, your target brace height is anywhere between 1/4" to 3/8" from the bumpers. There is zero difference between 1/4" and 3/8" other than 3/8" will allow the rubber bumpers to live longer. Do not kink the serving, this will make the string unusable. Don't forget that your stringing aid is adjustable. If you have any issues or questions, please contact me ASAP. I want you to be happy with my work.
Excalibur’s brace height guide can be found by going to the bottom of Excalibur’s first page - click downloads - at the next page that shows scroll to the bottom and click string & brace height guide or you can click this link https://excaliburcrossbow.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Excalibur-Crossbow-String-Guide-Updated-2.15.2022.docx
Good brace height for any Matrix or Micro is between 1/4” to 3'/8” between the bumpers and the string. There is no difference in how your bow behaves when your brace height is 1/4” or 3/8”. On Bulldog models, the correct braceheight is 2” between the string and the end of the mainframe. As your string gets less than 1/4” to the bumper your bumpers will start to be damaged by the string impact.
They are rare, but some older Vixens and Exocets have flat risers. Bows with flat risers take a different length string. Flat riser limbs are parallel to each other. Most Exo series bows have limb forward design. If you are in doubt, send me a picture of your bow unstrung from above so that I can see the attitude of your limbs. I do not make Dacron material so I do not make strings for carved tipped bows.
When you are considering different string materials keep in mind that the differences in characteristics are small. One string material is not vastly better than the other. For what I need Force 10 is my pick.
Below is a picture denoting the difference between the risers for the different generations of Micro 335 risers. The lower riser is a generation 1 riser. The upper could be a generation 2 or 3. There are no differences in geometry between generation 2 and generation 3.
